Zeruel: Zeruel attacks after Shinji has decided once again he cannot pilot an Eva. It is able to blast through eighteen layers of armor in one hit, and manages to get inside the Geofront itself. Asuka is sent to fight it in Unit 02, but her weapons can do nothing against the angle before it removes her arms. Her Eva is deactivated just in time as it is decapitated by the angel. Rei attempts to fight in her one-armed Unit 00 in a suicide run with an N2 mine, but she is quickly defeated as well. Shinji returns to Nerv just in time to save the day, but his Eva runs out of power during the battle. However, it activates again without power, kills the angel, and eats its S2 (super-solenoid) organ.
