Ramiel: Shortly after the successful second activation of Unit 00, Ramiel attacks. Shinji goes out to face the Angel and is severely injured as he emerges from NERV. While Shinji recuperates, the angel begins drilling toward the Geofront. Misato initiates a plan for the Evas 00 and 01 to destroy the Angel, which seems to be nearly a impregnable flying fortress. The Evas attack with Unit 00 equipped with a shield that was formerly part of the space shuttle and assigned to protect Unit 01. Unit 01 is equipped with the SSDF’s prototype Positron Rifle that is charged with the entire nation of Japan’s electrical power. The Evas succeed with Unit 00 sustaining moderate damage from attempting to sacrifice herself to protect Unit 01 and Shinji.
