Name: Eric James Birer
Age: 22
Birth Date: June 19, 1981
Occupation: Recording Engineer for Oblivion
Family: His parents, Cathy and Henri, and two older sisters,
Amy and Lauren, who live in various parts of America
Likes: Rock’n’roll music, origami
Dislikes: Being called Eric Beer-er (his last name is pronounced
"Bih-RAY"), most of the musicians he has to work with
Fav. Food: oriental food, especially ramen and egg rolls (inexpensive
AND delicious!)
Hated Food: yams
Favorite Color: forest green
Hobbies: origami, listening to music
Aspirations: To become a successful recording engineer and work with
famous musicians
Physical Appearance: About six feet tall, with sandy hair and dark brown eyes. He dresses casually, his wardrobe consisting of little other than T-shirts and jeans. He's good looking, but he could use a haircut, and doesn't shave more than once a week.
Personality: Eric is pretty optimistic about life and easy-going. He lives in an apartment, where he eats little other than instant ramen and microwaveable egg rolls, with the occasional TV dinner thrown in for variety. He loves music and has a flair for arranging music so it sounds the best, and wishes that he could work with better musicians than the ones Oblivion attracts, but it pays his bills, so he doesn’t complain.
Strengths: Eric’s talents are in the electronic aspects of recorded music, and he can put tracks together to produce an amazing sound. Unfortunately, the artists of Oblivion don’t give him much to work with, but he works wonders with what he has. He has a talent for conceptualizing and visualizing what the finished product of a song will be, and is quite able to translate it to the recording.
Weaknesses: Eric is willing to overlook some shady business in Oblivion so long as he gets his paycheck, and will even help out some of Oblivion’s schemes if he can make a buck by doing so. He needs the money to pay off the loans he took out to get through college. He also has a tendency to think blindly once someone has convinced him that something is right, and tends to go along with whoever is the last person to speak to him. He is somewhat forgetful, especially when he is throwing himself into a task or cause, when he forgets everything else for hours at a time.
History: Eric’s father met his mother when she was an exchange student in France. They came to America, got married, and had three children. His parents seem like opposites; his mother has a southern accent and is rather approachable and friendly, while his father is still very French and aloof. Eric grew up pretty normally, and went to college majoring in electronic music and engineering. He now lives alone, working for Oblivion.
