Kreis Delamuir and Triana Mayfey are sent on a mission by Faradine Marchaun, the priestess in charge of the Abbey of the Crane, to discover the intentions of the Queen of Shadows. They are soon discovered by her soldiers, however, and taken before the Queen herself...
Kreis and Triana were mistaken in thinking they were not being followed back to Norana. When a strange creature attacks, however, their lives depend on the actions of Aradinea's servant.
While Kieme explains the Queen's terms to Faradine, Gregan and his company of performers prepare to give a show in Norana. But what does Kieme have to do with it?
The show goes on, and Triana and Kreis find themselves with more companions than they expected for their journey to Thaliron.
