Yanagi/Jahin

Age: 24

Niece of the hero Arata, Yanagi was also read an auspicious fate. She would die heroically to protect...well, someone important. Her mother called her Yanagi, but the prophet gave her the name Jahin, meaning "Brilliant Sacrifice." She followed in her Uncle's footsteps to become a Daolin, and has received an assignment that the prophets of Ganard believe will call her to fulfill her destiny.

Elzane

Age: 44

Yanagi calls her "Aunt," but Elzane was actually a friend of her mother's who helped to raise Yanagi through her mother's illness and after her death. She never married, but still looks after Yanagi's father.

Kouren

Age: 51

Yanagi's father, an artist, poet, and hermit. After the death of Yanagi's mother, he became increasingly withdrawn.

Kazuki

Age: 26

A pupil of Arata who achieved the rank of Daolin.

Arata

Age: 35 at time of death

Known for a variety of heroic deeds, Arata was a Daolin and also gifted with prophetic ability. For the last few years of his life, he mentored children with bright futures, mostly from impoverished backgrounds.

Merana

Age: 29 at time of death

Yanagi's mother, who died when she was four years old. She was Arata's older sister.
